Finally got a good sweat in September 3, 2008

After volleyball practice I finally made it to the gym. I didn’t have much time because I still had to pick up dinner and go rent movies. But I managed to get 40 minutes in on the stairmaster. I love that machine, it always kicks my butt. According to my heart-rate monitor I burned 369 calories.

So after I was done with my workout I went to El Pollo Loco, I have been craving one of their Chicken Tostada Salads for weeks now…and since it is right across the street from the gym I thought it would be a perfect time to get one. Whenever I go though, it always seems that they get frustrated with me because I make mine a special order. I got my salad with:

  • romaine lettuce (instead of iceberg)
  • extra lettuce
  • no sour cream
  • no tostada shell
  • pinto beans
  • rice
  • cheese
  • creamy cilantro dressing
  • pico de gallo
  • lots of avocado salsa

This salad was so good!!!! I also got Mike some Tacos Al Carbon and I had one 🙂

After dinner I wanted something sweet so I had a handful of Jelly Bellys that I bought last week.

Huge taco salad August 26, 2008

When I got  home from volleyball practice I was starving, so I wanted to make something quick. Taco salad it was…my salad consisted of:

  • romaine lettuce
  • fat free refried beans
  • 93/7 ground beef with 30% less sodium taco seasoning
  • red onion
  • green bell pepper
  • olives
  • jalapenos
  • little bit of guac and sour cream
  • mexican blend cheese
  • crushed up taco shell
  • taco bell sauce on top (best sauce ever)

While making dinner I snacked on some cucumber and hummus.

and of course I had an ice cream after dinner…but why I do not know, I was still full from dinner. Seriously I need to stop buying these or have some self control. But they are just sooo good.

 

Snack, spinning, dinner and desert August 21, 2008

When I changed the time zone on here the order of my pictures got messed up and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it. So the snack that I said I was going to have before spinning I didn’t end up having. Instead before the class I went to a friends house and made myself a turkey sandwich with spinach, pickles and mustard. After that I had 3 cookies (no pic)…they were so good I couldn’t stop at 1. They were the M&M kind.

 

Spin class was fun, I did sweat my butt off but the teacher was a little boring and she barely could keep up. The music wasn’t that great and that stupid seat hurt so bad. Does anyone else have a problem with the seat? Seriously, I’m more sore from the seat today then from anything else. After the 60 min spin class I did about 10 minutes on the treadmill, running and walking.

After the class I went home to make a quick dinner. I made an egg scramble using egg beaters, red onion, a morning star sausage patty, olives, roasted red pepper, buffalo sauce, mexican blend cheese and 1/2 an avocado on the side. I also toasted up an english muffin and put low fat cream cheese on one half. I love eggs! I could seriously eat them every meal everyday.

After dinner I still had room for desert. So I ate the last Dreyers Slowchurned Cookies & Cream bar. I definitely need to get some more of these.

 

Too much snacking and a great dinner August 20, 2008

Before I left for volleyball practice I was starting to get a little hungry so I had a Z Bar.

I got home from practice around 6pm and of course I wanted something to snack on. So I had some honeydew and a couple handfuls of sunchips (no pic). I would have to say that snacking is my biggest problem. I love to snack!! So that is one of my goals…stop snacking so much!

I started making dinner around 7pm when Mike was on his way home. I decided on grilled chicken salads. On mine I had lettuce, tomatoes, olives, red onion, green pepper, cucumber, pepperoncini, cheese and chicken with a little BBQ sauce and buffalo sauce. I couldn’t decided on which dressing I wanted so I put about a teaspoon of each. It didn’t really need any though.

For desert I had probably one of the best ice cream bars ever…well that are lower in calories. It was Dreyers Slowchurned Cookies & Cream. These are so good!!! Notice my dog in the background wanting a little lick.
